Gluten Free Group Trip: Japan (March 2026) RECAP

Our Gluten Free Japan Group Trip in March 2026 was AMAZING!

Here’s what happened..

Our March 2026 gluten free group trip brought together an incredible group of travellers from different walks of life, all connected by one thing:

A desire to experience Japan without the constant stress of navigating gluten-free travel alone.

Tokyo: The Beginning of Something Special

Tokyo welcomed us with its signature buzz.

Bright lights, endless streets, hidden laneways, late-night convenience stores, and a city that somehow feels both chaotic and beautifully organised all at once.

But what made this different?

Our travellers got to experience Tokyo with confidence.

Instead of stressing over menus, we sat down together and enjoyed incredible gluten-free meals that many had never imagined possible in Japan.

Beyond the Food

Yes, the gluten-free food was unforgettable.

But this trip was about so much more.

It was about wandering through peaceful temples of Kyoto, seeing the countryside in Hakone, the side streets of Kyoto and the historical buildings in Hiroshima.

Taking in those “I can’t believe I’m actually here” moments.

Hakone

Shortly after Tokyo, we travelled to Hakone, visiting various historical sites along the way. A breath of fresh air after the energy of Tokyo. Hakone invited us to slow down with misty mountain views, peaceful lakes, traditional Japanese inns, and moments of stillness that make you fall in love with Japan in a completely different way.

Our Hakone hotel

Kyoto

Following a night in Hakone, we took the bullet train to Kyoto and spent four nights there discovered its timeless beauty. Home to ancient temples, roaming deer, peaceful gardens, bamboo forests, traditional streets, and some of Japan’s most unforgettable cultural experiences.

We also did a day trip to Osaka and visited Universal Studios Japan which was also incredible!

Hiroshima

Our journey continued in Hiroshima, where we spent an unforgettable night at the beautiful Hilton Hiroshima , a premium base that gave us the perfect blend of comfort and convenience as we explored this deeply moving and vibrant city. From reflecting on Hiroshima’s powerful history at the A Bomb site to experiencing its incredible food scene and warm local culture, this part of the trip offered a completely different side of Japan. Hiroshima brought depth, perspective, and some truly special moments our group will never forget.

Tokyo

To close out the adventure, we returned to where it all began, the electric energy of Tokyo. But this time, it felt different. What started as a group of travellers arriving with excitement and nerves had become a tight-knit community ready to make the most of every final moment. From experiencing Tokyo’s unforgettable nightlife and racing through the streets on go-karts, to soaking up the city’s endless energy with laughter, late nights, and spontaneous fun, it was the perfect way to cap off an incredible journey. Returning to Tokyo felt like coming full circle, ending the trip not as strangers, but as friends with memories that will last a lifetime.
